What's Really Out There?

Every time I went on a drift walk I would start recording at my front door. One time I noticed that just listening to someone going from the sometimes total silence and comfort of there own homes to the uncontrollable loud almost completely random world around them. Kinda freaks you out. Listen Here

Finding A Different Road

To make my drift walk completely random, I came up with a system using cards. Odd left, even right and I divided card value by two and the final number would be the amount of blocks I would travel.

The first number was a seven so after going a automatic block south I proceeded left three, three and a half blocks and kept repeating this process. To the left an example of one of the many cards drawn.

Here is my drift map I made in google maps.

Rubber Sidewalk?

Here is a picture of cheap fake rubber sidewalk stones. At first you would think nothing of it but the noise your feet make and the spacing while you listen make for an interesting sound. I thought it sounded almost like the footsteps of someone on hardwood floor but with background of outdoor sounds. Listen Here

On the Picket Fence With the Lead Pipe

Ok so i really didn't use a lead pipe on this picket fence. I think it was steel but the sound is pretty cool, the rhythm works I like the subtile pitch changes. Listen Here

Moving Trash

When I moved the this trash can I liked the sound so on "trash day" I set up my mic and waited for someone next door to move there trash can. The plastic wheels on the cement make a different kind of rumble. Listen Here

Metal Siding

When I approached this small house I thought it might make for an interesting sound. The resonating sound and quick jump in pitch almost sounds like  "laser blast"sound FX. Listen Here
